Impressive contemporary documents of the destroyed city are contrasted with current recordings.
Kassel, the millennia-old Fulda city, has changed its face again and again. The last major change took place after the devastating bombing of the city in World War II. After the bombing of October 22, 1943, 80% of Kassel's buildings were in rubble. Nearly 80 years, the private footage showing the cityscape before and after the destruction slumbered in the drawer and are now being published for the first time. They are impressive contemporary history documents that are contrasted in this volume current recordings.
