Neuware - Kasaragod, formed on May 24, 1984, is the northernmost district of Kerala, India, and is situated between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, this coastal district features a 70 km coastline, famous for the Bekal Fort. Due to its strategic coastal location, Kasaragod has long been a trade centre, attracting Arab and European traders for centuries, which later evolved into illegal, high-value goods smuggling. Reports describe a 'Kasaragod Mafia' from past decades that focused on smuggling gold and silver, mostly from Dubai. Figures like K.S. Abdulla, Kallatra Abdul Khadar Haji, and others have been iconic names. This book, by an IRS officer, Dr. Shreekumar Menon, recounts dramatic events covering the lives of these legends. A must read for all enforcement officers of Police, Customs and Coast Guard.
