The universe is breaking.
Not through war.
Not through plague.
Not through the ambitions of kings, empires, or civilizations.
Reality itself is beginning to fail.
After uncovering the secrets hidden beneath an impossible ocean world, Varek, Mira, and Saox find themselves standing at the edge of a truth older than galaxies. Ancient civilizations have vanished. Entire universes have died. Forgotten powers have shaped the rise and fall of existence across spans of time so vast that even stars are little more than brief sparks in an endless darkness.
Yet the greatest revelation is still to come.
Across the cosmos, impossible events begin unfolding. Twin worlds drift toward collision. Ancient relics awaken. Tethers that bind life, memory, destiny, and reality itself begin to strain beneath forces they were never meant to withstand. Long-buried knowledge resurfaces. Forgotten histories emerge from the depths. The dead whisper through the cracks of time. And beyond the limits of known space, something watches.
The Voidlords have returned.
Older than civilizations. Older than empires. Older, perhaps, than the universe itself.
They do not seek conquest.
They seek consumption.
Entire realities have already fallen to them. Worlds, species, and histories beyond counting have been erased, their existence reduced to fragments drifting through the ruins of collapsing dimensions. What remains now may be the final chance to prevent the same fate from claiming everything that exists.
But survival carries a cost.
As ancient relics reveal their true purpose, Varek discovers that power and sacrifice are inseparable. Every decision reshapes the future. Every victory demands something in return. Every attempt to save one world threatens another. With billions of lives hanging in the balance, he must confront impossible choices that no individual should ever be asked to make.
Meanwhile, Mira's journey leads her toward a destiny hidden within the oldest mysteries of creation. Guided by visions, haunted by memories that do not belong to her, and pursued by forces she barely understands, she begins uncovering a truth that reaches beyond life and death. A truth connected to the foundations of reality itself.
And somewhere beyond the known boundaries of existence, Saox follows a path that may alter the fate of everything.
Together they must cross impossible worlds, descend into forgotten cities, unlock the archives of extinct civilizations, survive cosmic trials, and confront entities capable of tearing stars apart with a thought. Along the way they will witness wonders beyond imagination: forests that float upon endless oceans, cities sleeping beneath ancient seas, dead universes frozen in eternal silence, and celestial structures so vast they reshape the meaning of existence.
Yet wonder alone cannot save them.
As worlds collide and galaxies tremble, the universe approaches a moment from which there may be no return.
Some destinies cannot be avoided.
Some sacrifices cannot be escaped.
And some doors, once opened, can never be closed.
The Cost of Stars is an epic science fiction fantasy adventure of cosmic mystery, ancient civilizations, impossible worlds, sacrifice, hope, and discovery. It is a story about the fragile threads that connect every living thing, the price of preserving what matters most, and the enduring belief that even in the face of impossible darkness, light can still be chosen.
Because when the stars begin to die, someone must decide what the future is worth.
