Print on Demand. This book offers a deeply personal portrait of Karl Marx, one of the most influential thinkers of the 19th century. The author, a close friend and confidant of Marx, provides an intimate glimpse into his life and personality, revealing a man far more complex and human than the often-caricatured figure of the radical theorist. The book traces Marx's life from his birth in 1818, through his early years as a journalist, his time in Paris and Brussels as a revolutionary, and his final years in London, where he devoted himself to writing his magnum opus, *Capital*. The author explores the development of Marx's ideas, particularly his theory of historical materialism, which posits that economic forces are the driving engine of history, shaping social and political structures. This book sheds light on the personal struggles and intellectual ferment that fueled Marx's revolutionary ideas, offering a unique perspective on the man behind the theory, and his lasting impact on the world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Better is the enemy of Good is an old com monplace, but like most commonplaces, it never theless contains a truth, behind which I retire for shelter in presenting the following little book. A hundred times I have been asked to write about Marx and my personal relations to him, but I have always declined to do so. And declined from - how shall I call it? - a certain holy awe - or how shall I express myself more correctly 'i - from reverence of Marx. N oblesse oblige. And a Marx imposes weighty obliga tions. Could I do him justice? Had I the abil ity? Had I the time? Under the continually growing pressure of work I was condemned to haste, to superficial working. And a eulogistic daubery, with Marx for its object, that would be an insulting lack of respect.
