Australian kangaroos are victims of the world's largest commercial slaughter of land-based wildlife. The suffering inflicted on kangaroos is immense. The opposition against the cruel, unsustainable commercial killing of kangaroos is great. California has banned the importation of kangaroo products. A Bill called The Kangaroo Protection Act has been introduced to US Congress. In response, Australian State Governments have developed methods to count kangaroos, generate population estimates and allocate commercial quotas. These methods are flawed. They are illogical. The figures don't make sense. They often defy science and logic. The management program collapses under scrutiny.

In truth, no one knows how many kangaroos live in any area of Australia. No one knows whether the commercial killing of kangaroos is sustainable. Kangaroos are visually extinct in many areas of Australia. Kangaroo numbers have declined in many places. Reality tells us that the commercial killing of kangaroos is cruel and unsustainable. This reality is hidden by overinflated population estimates and commercial quotas generated for the sole purpose of creating the illusion of sustainability.

The illusion ends here with The Kangaroo Con: The Truth Behind a Cruel, Unsustainable Industry.

Meticulously researched and drawing upon 14 years of data obtained via Freedom of Information requests, The Kangaroo Con reveals the truth to readers, an ugly truth of manipulated figures and reckless endangerment of local kangaroo populations by a profit-driven commercial industry led by the Australian Government.

The Australian Government allowed the thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) to be hunted to extinction. The Australian fur industry killed at least 8 million koalas for commercial gain. The koala population in Australia is now around 330,000 animals. The slaughter of Australian wildlife must end.

The Kangaroo Con is an unforgettable exposé of myth-busting and truth-telling which will leave you wondering how Australian Governments can sacrifice the unique, iconic kangaroo for a tiny profit-driven industry. Devastating, heart-breaking, shocking, The Kangaroo Con is a necessary read to spread the truth: kangaroos are in trouble and they need our help to survive. Australia without kangaroos is... closer than you think.
