About this Item
In German. With cardboard slipcase. Possible First Edition. The book was first published in 1957. I'm not finding a date in my book. The covers of the book are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling at all. The gilt design on the front cover is nicely bright. The gilt lettering on the black band on the spine is nicely bright as well. The edges and corners are in solid shape. So are the spine ends. There is one crease under the rear covers top corner. There is some light dust staining on all three page edges. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean. Here as well, I'm not finding any soiling. The light dust staining at the page edges does not appear to have migrated onto the actual pages. There is some light creasing at the corners of a good number of pages, though it is the light kind of creasing you get when there is a little bit of a bending in. There are no severe creases, no placeholder creases. There's also a very light and thin crease off the bottom edge of a good number of later pages. Something likely was lightly pressing down there. There are no markings in the book. There is one tiny label off the bottom edge of the rear inside cover (Wittenborn Art Books, Madison Avenue, New York). There are no other attachments in the book. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The dust jacket is in quite solid condition. It is mostly quite clean. See photos. It has one crease off both sides of the spine, just off the bottom edge. There is also a crease at the rear top corner. There are no tears on the jacket. The flaps are in very good condition. It looks like they may have been very slightly clipped at the four corners, not entirely sure. If so, they were tucking-in clips. The jacket is not priced. The clips are too thin to have removed the price. The book is in its original stapled cardboard slipcase. The book fits nicely into it. The slipcase is quite solid and has only slight wear, including a crease at its rear side/spine. Seller Inventory # 004388
