8vo. 5 x 7 inches. [14] pp. advertisements + 152 pp. + [20] pp. of advertisements. Bound in original green cloth with title in white. Slight wear to extremities but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by folding map of district with advertisements on verso and plan of Leeds Castle and by photographs and drawings in text, including frontispiece, many full page. Decorated by head and tailpiece vignettes. Scarce late Victorian guide to Maidstone with a fine selection of advertisements. Founded by Patrick Marrin's father George in 1946, Marrin's Bookshop has been based in its current Folkestone location since 1963. Patrick has worked in bookselling since 1970. As well as rare antiquarian books, maps and prints, the stock includes a wide range of literature, library sets, travel, history and illustrated books in all fields. We also offer a bookbinding and restoration service. Visitors to the shop are welcome and we exhibit at UK book fairs.
