nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Dr. Benjamin Diri's book on the Kalaibiama-Opobo people beautifully rekindles fond childhood memories, especially of a boat trip to the 'small beautiful island' that intrigued my young mind. The book vividly traces the Ibani family's migration from the Isedein Clan in Bayelsa State to their present settlement, unraveling intra-family brawls, chieftaincy disputes, and inter-family dynamics. A historical treasure-box, it explores linguistic and cultural ties between the Ndoki, Opobo, and Bonny communities, revealing hidden relationships and facts that many indigenous people were unaware of. Dr. Diri's strategic use of omniscient passivity and third-person narration ensures objectivity, while his compelling language keeps readers hooked to the last page. This book is a revelation, a captivating read for anyone interested in the Ibani family, King Jaja of Opobo, the secession of Bonny chiefs, and the intricate history of Kalaibiama-Opobo. A must-read for history enthusiasts, students, policymakers, and anyone eager to delve into the rich heritage of the Bonny, Opobo, and Kalaibiama-Opobo people.…
