It will serve as ample material for a year's work in schools where time is even more limited. The book covers topics such as purchases and sales, trading, profit and loss, and the preparation of financial statements. It explains complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner, using examples and problems to illustrate key points. The author's approach emphasizes arithmetic sense and reasoning abilities, training students to derive logical conclusions from familiar premises and expressing solutions in accounting form. This book offers a unique approach to teaching junior-level bookkeeping and accountancy, making it an excellent resource for students and educators alike. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

A preface for this book hardly seems necessary. Each year a larger number of pupils are compelled for one reason or another to leave school at an earlier age than formerly. The usual training in the commercial subjects provided in the secondary schools is neither suitable nor available for these pupils. If training in such subjects is to be had at all it must be provided in the higher elementary grades and in the junior high schools from material prepared for the special benefit of this class of pupils.
