Jaime Johnson Jurgensen is a writer, poet, and storyteller located in Southern California. Her Humanities studies, primarily focusing on literature and creative writing, prepared her to publish articles as well as poetry. By sharing the gift of storytelling, she writes to connect with others who have similar experiences and instill hope in those who feel lost and alone. Elementary school brought the days of book fairs with newspaper catalogs. In Mrs.Weston's fourth grade school year, Jaime received a book of children's poems selected by Jack Prelutsky. Immediately enthralled with rhythm and rhyme, evocative language, style, and voice, mixed with wit and magic - not to mention the illustrations - her love for literature blossomed. As a young adult, Jaime was given a children's book each year at Christmastime with a special message from her mom written inside the cover. These messages encouraged her to continue following her writing journey. It was only a matter of time before Jaime would write children's stories of her own - stories she wished she had heard when she was little. Junebug and the Supermoon is her first children's book, but certainly not her last. Jaime loves living near the deep blue sea, where she fishes for big ideas that inspire new tales to tell. When Jaime's not writing, she enjoys exploring the local region to take pictures, making her husband laugh, snuggling with their cat, Junebug, and snacking on homemade turkey empanadas.
