Paperback. Vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) - or 'jump jets' - have the combat performance of a fighter, combined with the ability to take-off and land like a helicopter. Harriers have seen extensive combat service around the world since the 1982 Falklands conflict, while US and British F-35s are starting to see combat in increasing numbers in global hotspots. The unique features of these jets mean they have carved a distinctive niche in military aviation and this 116-page special is dedicated to the technology in service with British, American, Italian, Spanish, Thai, Japanese and Russian units. Jump Jets In Action, an essential guide to Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft, looks back at the development of VTOL fighters and describes the main types to enter operational service. It looks at how jump jets have seen action in conflicts around the world, and profiles all the squadrons that have flown them over the past six decades. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
