Synopsis
Mega-City One - a nightmarish enclosure located along the Eastern Seaboard of North America. Only the Judges - powerful law enforcers supporting the despotic Justice Department - can stop total anarchy running rife on the crime-ridden streets. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd - he is the law and these are his stories... After a pack of vicious Dune Sharks attack Mega-City One, Judge Dredd sets out into the Cursed Earth with a group of cadets, intent on finding where the alien fish fiends have come from, so he can wipe them out once and for all! Meanwhile in another classic adventure from the pages of the Judge Dredd Megazine, Dredd teams up with the celebrity freelance exorcist, Devlin Waugh, to battle Kigishu the evil sorcerer on the plains of Pan-Africa...
About the Authors
John Burns’ painted art has graced several 2000 AD series, notably Judge Dredd and Nikolai Dante, as well in as his own co-creation, The Bendatti Vendetta. He has also contributed to Black Light, Doctor Sin, The Scarlet Apocrypha, Vector 13 and Witchworld. Outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, he has pencilled Eclipse’s ESPers and the James Bond miniseries, A Silent Armageddon.. Siku – artist, author, theologian and musician – is one of Britain’s leading comic book/concept artists, having worked for 2000 AD producing titles such as Judge Dredd, Sláine and a strip he co-created called Pan-African Judges. He has also worked for Marvel UK and COM X. He is the author and creator of the best selling The Manga Bible which is translated into 16 languages, and the author of The Manga Jesus. Recently, Siku has been experimenting with narrative preaching (preaching while painting) while producing a new anime series on the life of Christ and a visual art/commentary project and solo music album on Psalm 27. He was also consultant on BBC’s ground breaking docu-drama, Atlantis. Besides executively co-producing The Manga Jesus anime series, Siku is writing a series of theological fiction novels.. Jim Murray has illustrated several strips for The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic including Judge Dredd, Harmony, Batman/Judge Dredd and Sláine.. Sean Phillips has become one of the comics industry’s most acclaimed artists, and is fondly remembered by 2000 AD fans as the co-creator of Armitage and Devlin Waugh. His work on the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic also includes illustration for Armoured Gideon, Downlode Tales, Judge Dredd, Mega-City One, One-Offs, Sinister Dexter, Strange Cases and Vector 13. Phillips’ US work includes lengthy runs on Hellblazer, The Invisibles, Kid Eternity, Minx, Uncanny X-Men, Wildcats, Sleeper and Marvel Zombies. Away from comics he has done freelance work for 20th Century Fox, Sony, and Maxim magazine.. Henry Flint, winner of the National Comics Awards for Best Comic Artist 2004, is one of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s rising superstars. Co-creator of Sancho Panzer, Shakara, and the fan-favourite strip, Zombo, his incredibly versatile pencils have also graced A.B.C. Warriors, Judge Dredd/Aliens, Deadlock, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock, The V.C.’s and Venus Bluegenes. He has even written a Tharg’s Alien Invasions strip! He has also worked on several American comics, including Omega Men, Haunted Tank and Fear Itself: Fearsome Four. Away from the comics industry, Henry produced art of the cover of DJ Food’s 2012 album, The Search Engine.
John Wagner has been scripting for 2000 AD for more years than he cares to remember. His creations include Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Ace Trucking, Al’s Baby, Button Man and Mean Machine. Outside of 2000 AD his credits include Star Wars, Lobo, The Punisher and the critically acclaimed A History of Violence.
Robbie Morrison is one of 2000 AD’s most popular writers, having co-created The Bendatti Vendetta, Shakara, Shimura and Vanguard, as well as being one of the select few writers to have chronicled the adventures of Judge Dredd in 2000 AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine. He is also co-creator of fan-favourite strip Nikolai Dante, which won an Eagle award for ‘Best Character’ in 2002, beating Judge Dredd to this accolade for the first time in almost twenty years. In the US, he has written Spider-Man’s Tangled Web for Marvel and The Authority for DC/WildStorm. His and artist Charlie Adlard’s critically acclaimed graphic novel White Death has also been hugely successful in both Europe and the US.
John Smith is unquestionably a 2000 AD hero, with a host of creative credits to his name, including A Love Like Blood, Devlin Waugh, Firekind, Holocaust 12, Indigo Prime, Pussyfoot 5, Revere, Slaughterbowl, Tyranny Rex, Leatherjack, Dead Eyes and Cradlegrave. Smith has also written Future Shocks, Judge Dredd, Judge Karyn, Pulp Sci-Fi, Robo-Hunter, Rogue Trooper, Tales from Beyond Science, Vector 13 and Tales from the Black Museum. Smith’s work beyond the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic includes the long-running New Statesmen series in Crisis, DC/Vertigo’s Hellblazer and Scarab, and Harris Comics’ Vampirella.
Gordon Rennie is one of 2000 AD's most prolific creators, with co-creative credits for Caballistics, Inc., Missionary Man, Necronauts, Storming Heaven, Rain Dogs and Witchworld. Rennie has written for Heavy Metal and Warhammer, as well as Species, Starship Troopers and White Trash.
