Paperback. Was Judas destined to betray Christ-or did he choose it?Discussions of sovereignty, predestination, and human responsibility often remain abstract-until they collide with the figure of Judas Iscariot. His betrayal of Jesus raises uncomfortable questions for theological systems that emphasize divine decree, foreordination, and exhaustive sovereignty.Judas Was a Calvinist examines Judas not as a caricature, but as a theological test case.Rather than attacking Calvinism as a doctrine, this book analyzes how certain Calvinist apologetic assumptions interpret Judas's role in redemptive history. By tracing how foreordination, necessity, and moral responsibility are handled in Reformed explanations, the book exposes the tension between theological system coherence and the biblical portrayal of moral accountability.Readers will encounter: How Judas is often framed within deterministic theologyWhere responsibility is affirmed but functionally constrainedHow system consistency can override narrative and moral clarityWhy Judas remains a problem that theology cannot easily resolveThis book does not argue from emotional outrage or denominational rivalry. It presents a focused, reasoned examination of how apologetic commitments shape interpretation-sometimes at the expense of biblical and moral coherence.Written for readers interested in theology, apologetics, and biblical interpretation, Judas Was a Calvinist challenges confident systems by asking whether theological certainty always produces theological clarity.
