Review
Casey O’Roarty is the authentic friend who tells the truth about the struggles of parenting, and is the wise guide who provides powerful tools to help us be our best selves as parents. Her “breath, body, balcony” strategy is a gem! — Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D., LCSW, Co-author of the bestsellers The Whole-Brain Child & No-Drama Discipline
Casey's imagery of a freight train pulling into the station really captures the magnitude of what a draining experience parenting can feel like. Her strategies to learn to let the train pass by is the greatest gift of self-preservation and we should all practice it not just in parenting but in all areas of our lives. — Shawn Fink, Founder of The Abundant Mama Project
Do you love being a parent—except for "those times" when you don't? Did you really believe you could be a perfect parent—and then beat up on yourself because you couldn't? After all, you "knew" better. You are going to love this book. It is for "real" parents, imperfect parents who need to know they are not alone; and will feel encouraged by the many tips on how to handle the ups and downs of parenting. — Dr. Jane Nelsen, author and co-author of the Positive Discipline series of books
Casey O’Roarty’s book, Joyful Courage: Calming the Drama and Taking Control of Your Parenting Journey is as good as an overdue lunch date with a BFF—one that gets you, listens really well, and gives great advice without being bossy. Casey tells us like it is, with love, but without sugar-coating the message. We are in charge of ourselves, but not in control of our children. She shows us what’s needed: self-awareness, loads of compassion, and practice, practice, practice. Because let’s face it, we're all learning how to better handle our emotions. — Sarah MacLaughlin, social worker and author of What Not to Say: Tools for Talking with Young Children
Joyful Courage is a beautiful invitation for parents to embrace a heart-felt, positive approach to raising their children, no matter their child's wiring or the challenges they may be facing. Casey's honesty will remind you you're not alone while showing you how to "be" with what is and create a more peaceful, respectful dynamic in your family. — Debbie Reber, founder of TiLT Parenting and author of "Differently Wired"
Parenthood is an emotional journey. Sometimes, those emotions completely derail us. Casey uses her wit, humor, and wisdom to help you get back on track and be the parent you want to be. With practical but powerful tools, this is the book that will help you take charge of your journey so you can show up each and every day with joy and courage! — Rebecca Eanes, author of The Gift of a Happy Mother

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
