Blue cloth, lacking the dust jacket. 1013 pp. Index. Illustrated by Ginnie Hofmann, (the "boot-on-squirrel" is on page 412). Originally self-published by A.C. Clayton in 1931, this is the 1953 reprint of the 1951 edition with the new index. The Joy of Cooking is arguable the most iconic American cookbooks written. Filled with Rombauer's witty comments alongside wonderful recipes it's a nostalgic treasure. This copy is unmarked, it is complete with no loose or missing pages; the foredge is stained. The former owner lovingly covered this gem with what I believe to be Contact Paper, white with blue gray design to match the original book cloth. The front and rear hinges are both separated, the text block remains within the boards. ; 8vo. Seller Inventory # 10340
