The ever-popular and long-running OCIA program, Journey of Faith for Children, has a fresh, new look and expanded leader materials. Written in the engaging, pastoral style of the Redemptorists, Journey of Faith and Jornada de Fe (previously, Camino de Fe) speak more clearly to children using simple language that speaks directly to them. New content more fully addresses faith topics and questions in a catechetical approach to OCIA.
Journey of Faith for Children, Catechumenate teaches children about the traditions of their Catholic faith in a way that's relevant to where they are in their own lives. The lessons begin with the OCIA process and rites and continue to cover our salvation history, each of the seven sacraments, Church history, the dignity of life, social justice, and moral living.
This comprehensive Leader Guide gives you everything you need to walk into your OCIA class and start leading. Whether you're a veteran OCIA instructor or a first year volunteer. The expanded materials include:
The process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic faith throughout the United States is now called the OCIA--the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. "Order" is a clearer translation of the Latin term for the process formerly known as the RCIA--the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. People preparing for baptism and reception into the Church celebrate several rites as part of the order to which those rites belong--an order whose mission is to journey in the faith. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops adopted the name change in 2021, with American dioceses introducing the name thereafter. For more information, please contact your local diocese.
A Redemptorist Pastoral Publication is written and edited by multiple authors and produced by Liguori Publications, a leading provider of award-winning Catholic publications for parishes and individuals in every stage of faith and life. A ministry of the Redemptorists, Liguori publishes inspirational and educational print and digital books, catechetical and faith formation programs, newsletters, pamphlets, Vacation Bible School programs, and parish bulletins. Our flagship magazine, Liguorian, communicates a timely pastoral message to Catholics on matters of faith and has been a cherished companion of Catholics for more than 100 years.
