xi, 94, iv, [2], 60 p. 33 cm. Quarter green leather with tan paper boards. New endpapers. Professional repairs to first and last pages. Some staining. Title continues: "(Both Days Inclusive.) In the Seventh and Eighth Years of the Reign of King William the Fourth: Being the Second Session of the Thirteenth Provincial Parliament. Allan Napier Macnab, Esquire - Speaker. Session 1837. Sir Francis Bond Head, Bart. & K. C. H. Lieutenant Governor." This legislative journal, printed in the Rebellion year, contains a lengthy report about the monetary system of Upper Canada. Sir Allan Napier MacNab (1798 1862), Speaker, would later serve as joint Premier of the Province of Canada from 1854 to 1856. Lieutenant-Governor Sir Francis Bond Head (1793 - 1875), known to history as "Galloping Head" or "Sir Francis Bone Head," sent the colonial militia to put down the bungled Rebellion and was soon replaced by Sir George Arthur.
