Today’s generation of college students prefer learning in smaller daily doses. Simple tips, happy hacks, stress-busters and the top TED Talks are spread across 2 years. The bottom of each page is saved for Year 2, so students can reflect on what happened one year earlier, which is the top half of each page.
Drawing on decades of research, Dr. Dave and his daughters crafted timely tips to arm students in their battles with stress, mental health struggles, and for getting along in their dorm to succeeding in the classroom. It’s like having a professor, parent, and professional counselor in your backpack!
Why this journal? The mental health crisis among college students is marked by increasing rates of anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders, exacerbated by academic pressures, social media use, and relationship struggles. This journal combines the experience of daily writing with research-based tips from relationship science, positive psychology, and neuroscience to give students the boost they need to survive and thrive in their college years.
Journaling offers significant benefits for college students' mental health and happiness by serving as a therapeutic tool for self-expression and emotional processing. It helps in managing anxiety, reducing stress, and enhancing self-awareness by encouraging reflection on personal experiences and emotions. It also contributes to increased gratitude and mindfulness, promoting a positive outlook on life.
It makes the perfect gift for graduating high school seniors or college students at any stage!
