"As thrilling as a rollercoaster ride, this fantastical world of spies, spirits, ancient prophecies and hidden cities tests Josh to his limits..." The Booktrust, 2009 by "sci-fi author M.G. Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
Previously in Ice Shock Josh Garcia tracked down an ancient device that legend holds once belonged to an ancient Mayan deity. The artefact's powers are said to allow its user to travel through time.
The question is - should Josh use it to jump back in time and save his father?
His girlfriend, Ixchel, knows what he intends to do. Should she stop him?
Before they can decide what to do, Ixchel is kidnapped by a rival secret society, a cabal who plan to make certain that a prophecy predicting the end of the world comes true.
It's up to Josh to save Ixchel. But no rescue ever goes as planned.
Pulse-pounding action takes Josh from the sand dunes and rain forest of Brazil to Mayan coast of Mexico and finally, Switzerland as he tries to return history to the ‘zero moment’ – when it seemed that his life all began to go wrong.
Time is running out in this exhilarating third part of the best-selling Joshua Files by M.G Harris, which has been translated into 17 languages.
Zero Moment is the third in a five-part action-adventure series for readers who love sci-fi thrills firmly grounded in a contemporary setting. This series launched an author who later went on to work with Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson. "Puppet-master Gerry Anderson conceived the story for Gemini Force One, but wasn't able to complete it due to the onset of Alzheimer's. The series of novels will now be written by sci-fi author MG Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
Praise for Zero Moment:
- "Explosive and compelling, this is the third part of the bestselling Joshua Files sequence. Don’t feel it’s essential to read the first two titles to enjoy this 3rd heart-stopping adventure, as the author cleverly interweaves the story to date at the beginning of this one." LoveReading4kids.co.uk
- "The first thing that hits you about Harris’ third instalment in this series is the electric pace. The front of the book may make it seem like another Alex Rider or Young Bond book but the Joshua Files are different, delving into the Mayan civilisation in great depth and touching on mysticism and time travel – an eclectic thematic mix that deserves to grab a wider audience." WriteAway
- "Zero Moment really is as captivating a read as the first two books in the series, and takes The Joshua Files story to its next level. The detail that MG Harris puts into her writing continues to make the reader empathise with Josh’s confused emotions completely. She also very cleverly keeps us guessing at every moment with her plot twists – there really is no second guessing where the story is going to go next." The Book Zone
Praise for The Joshua Files series:
- "A splendid adventure story of UFOs, ancient Mayan documents and a lost city. The hero is eminently likeable...a splendid only-you-can-save-the-World denouement." Louisa Young, 23 March 2008, Mail on Sunday
- "Indiana Jones would have stiff competition in young Joshua Garcia . . . will have the reader begging for the rest of the series. Highly Recommended." Library Media Connection, September 2010, starred review

About the Author
On regular visits back to Mexico, M.G. became fascinated by Mayan archaeology and made several trips to Mayan ruins in Yucatan and Chiapas. One such trip planted the seed of the idea for THE JOSHUA FILES, a best-selling series of young adult books which was translated into 17 foreign languages.
M.G. is also the author of GEMINI FORCE ONE, a trilogy of action-adventure novels for young adults created with Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson and funded initially via a hugely popular Kickstarter campaign. As M.G. Reyes she has authored EMANCIPATED, a series for older teenagers.
