"As thrilling as a rollercoaster ride, this fantastical world of spies, spirits, ancient prophecies and hidden cities tests Josh to his limits..." The Booktrust, 2009 by "sci-fi author M.G. Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
Previously in Dark Parallel Josh Garcia fulfilled his destiny to become one of few humans who has traveled in time.
Now a cosmic catastrophe is months away from hitting the solar system. When it does, civilization will collapse. The world will be plunged into a battle for resources and power, a bloody fight for survival in which billions will die.
Only the knowledge within the ancient Ix Codex can save the world. But some of its secrets still cannot be understood. Time is running out.
Josh is one of the guardians of the Ix Codex. He's risked his life again and again to protect the knowledge within.
Now it looks as though there's only one move left for Josh. It will be his most daring mission yet, a leap forward in time to discover the truth.
Josh jumps ahead far enough to glimpse a post-apocalyptic world in collapse - and to realize that it could be his destiny to stay.
The fifth and final instalment of M. G. Harris's best-selling series, The Joshua Files, in which all secrets are finally revealed.
Apocalypse Moon is the fifth in a five-part action-adventure series for readers who love sci-fi thrills firmly grounded in a contemporary setting. This series launched an author who later went on to work with Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson. "Puppet-master Gerry Anderson conceived the story for Gemini Force One, but wasn't able to complete it due to the onset of Alzheimer's. The series of novels will now be written by sci-fi author MG Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
Praise for Apocalypse Moon:
- "I loved it. It is the perfect ending to a series that I was enjoying long before I started The Book Zone. I would be absolutely amazed if there is a single Joshua Files fan out there who ends up feeling disappointed on finishing this book. I am a little sad that we have come to the end of Josh’s story, but also elated that it ends with such a great final instalment." The Book Zone
- "This book is about the apocalyptic surge that Joshua goes forward in time to see and then has to prevent, using clues from the four books. Joshua is by far the best character and I like him as he is very mysterious, talented and brave because of his Dad dying, his long-lost sister being killed, and the long, hard journey to get the Ix Codex. This series is awesome and I have really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this to anybody. 5/5 stars!!!" Guardian Children’s Books
Praise for The Joshua Files series:
- "A splendid adventure story of UFOs, ancient Mayan documents and a lost city. The hero is eminently likeable...a splendid only-you-can-save-the-World denouement." Louisa Young, 23 March 2008, Mail on Sunday
- "A gripping survival story begins...a boy's fantasy of pyramids, caves and tunnels." Carole Mansur, 15 March 2008, The Telegraph
- "Indiana Jones would have stiff competition in young Joshua Garcia . . . will have the reader begging for the rest of the series. Highly Recommended." Library Media Connection, September 2010, starred review
- "A fast-paced, first-person thriller." James Lovegrove, 2 Feb 2008, Financial Times

About the Author
On regular visits back to Mexico, M.G. became fascinated by Mayan archaeology and made several trips to Mayan ruins in Yucatan and Chiapas. One such trip planted the seed of the idea for THE JOSHUA FILES, a best-selling series of young adult books which was translated into 17 foreign languages.
M.G. is also the author of GEMINI FORCE ONE, a trilogy of action-adventure novels for young adults created with Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson and funded initially via a hugely popular Kickstarter campaign. As M.G. Reyes she has authored EMANCIPATED, a series for older teenagers.
