How does forgiveness work exactly? Does forgiving someone mean you have to pretend nothing ever happened? Too many of us do not have a good understanding of forgiveness, and our misconceptions have hurt us. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Kick in the Teeth takes a look at the biblical story of Joseph, and what it can teach us about these questions. Joseph was betrayed, sent to prison, rose to great power, and then had an opportunity for revenge, but instead used that opportunity for reconciliation. Studying Joseph's life can show us how to address our own confusion, anger, and guilt when dealing with those who have hurt us, and it can even help us find our way to forgiveness.
Joseph's story will give you a new perspective on what forgiveness actually is, what it isn't, why you need it, and how you can actually do it. You will also discover why this story is even in the Bible, and the deeper message it is teaching us. You might also find out why you shouldn't go showing your Costco membership card to just anyone, and why duck attacks can be just as dangerous as bear attacks.
