Complete Shorter Works for Solo Piano by Romantic composer Johannes Brahms is a comprehensive collection of his shorter works for solo piano. Designed for pianists, students, teachers and classical music enthusiasts, this edition brings together Brahms' major collections and individual compositions in one convenient volume for study, lesson preparation and performance.
The music is reproduced directly from the definitive Vienna Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde edition and presented in standard musical notation for solo piano. The carefully reproduced scores make this collection suitable for regular practice, detailed score study, recital planning and personal exploration of Brahms' expressive Romantic piano writing.
These works offer rich opportunities to explore musical expression, tonal control, phrasing, voicing and interpretation. From lyrical intermezzi and expressive romances to energetic capriccios, ballades, rhapsodies and waltzes, the collection reflects the remarkable variety of Brahms' writing for solo piano. Pianists will appreciate having many of his most admired shorter compositions gathered into one practical reference, providing rewarding repertoire for both private enjoyment and public performance.
