Print on Demand. This book delves into educational methodology, providing a comprehensive approach to teach children to read with the Jingle Primer. The author, a pioneer in early childhood education, believed that learning to read should follow the same natural process as learning to speak. The Jingle Primer employs a sequence of jingles, rhymes, and folk stories that engage children's natural inclination for rhythm and melody, making the learning process both enjoyable and effective. This method has been used successfully for generations, instilling a love for reading and language in young minds. The book's insights into the psychology of child development and the art of teaching make it an invaluable resource for educators, parents, and anyone interested in fostering a lifelong passion for reading. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

The stories in the latter half of the book contain but few new words, and follow the vocabulary obtained from the jingles. The new words are in full-faced type and may be taught by any method preferred, but they should be familiar to the child before the story is introduced.
It will be noticed in both jingles and stories that the same expressions are used repeatedly. Stories in which such repeti tion occurs are always of great interest to children, and afford opportunities for reviewing and fixing the words in the child's mind.
