While Christians look to the Bible, addicts look to the 12 Steps. But what if both groups have been really looking in the same direction – and didn’t even know it?
The 12 Steps are as biblical as the New Testament. Jesus unpacked each of the Steps in 12 personal encounters with people in need of recovery. So get ready . . . you are about to see the Gospels – and the 12 Steps – as you’ve never seen them before.
The Bible or the 12 Steps? You no longer have to choose!
Using familiar stories from the Gospels, Mark provides a biblical basis for each of the 12 Steps. Not only will you come away with a better understanding of the biblical text, but also, you will have a new appreciation for what is involved in each of the steps of recovery.
Written by one who has dealt personally with sex addiction, this material has direct application to every type of addiction. Because addiction is a prevalent issue in our world, this book will become a valuable resource to have on the shelf for every addict and for every minster striving to help addicts.
No one is more qualified to connect the Gospels to the 12 Steps than Dr. Mark Denison. With three degrees in theology and 30 years as a senior pastor, Denison understands the teachings of Christ. With a Master’s in Addiction Recovery and living in his own recovery since 2013, Mark understands addiction. A certified PSAP, Mark and Beth have been married for over 35 years. Together, they lead There’s Still Hope, a leading source of men and women who struggle with addictions to sex and pornography.
