Paperback. Jenny Clutterbuck: Reluctant Traveller in Time by David Beeley is a compelling science fiction novel that blends time travel with emotional depth and human resilience. Part of The Stockwell College Series, it follows Jenny Clutterbuck, a 60-year-old former school headteacher and widow, who is recruited in 2032 as an experimental time traveler by the secretive Time Research Interventions Portal (TRIPE) in Swindon. Despite her sharp intellect and adventurous spirit, Jenny grows increasingly wary of the physical and emotional toll of her missions, with her ninth journey to 2024 proving to be her most challenging. Tasked with preventing a tragic bus crash in Thornbury, Jenny grapples with nausea, dizziness, and the moral complexities of altering history. As she navigates the past, her personal grief-stemming from the loss of her husband, Steve-and her longing to see her family again add poignant layers to her mission. The novel explores themes of sacrifice, loss, and the ethical dilemmas of time travel, culminating in a bittersweet reflection on the cost of changing the future. This item is printed on demand.
