Synopsis:

Jehovah's Witnesses are experiencing strong growth worldwide. Their magazine, The Watchtower, is considered the world's largest circulation religious magazine.
In this situation, and given that almost everyone has had some contact with Jehovah's Witnesses at some point, a comprehensive presentation and assessment of their history and teachings is urgently needed.
How did the Watchtower Society come into being? How did it develop? What are its fundamental teachings? Are they in harmony with the Bible or not? How do Jehovah's Witnesses proselytize - and how can committed Christians respond to them?
This book seeks to answer such questions in a scientifically sound yet understandable manner.

Dr. theol. Lothar Gassmann, born in 1958, married with Anna, was a lecturer in dogmatics and apologetics at the Free Theological Academy in Giessen from 1993 to 1997 and a guest lecturer at the Free College for Mission in Korntal and at the Christian University in St. Petersburg. From 1998 to 2008, he was the sect and worldview commissioner for the "Working Group for Religious Questions." He is author of numerous essays and over 200 books on theological and worldview topics.
