First edition. #136/500 copies [after 36 copies with accompanying suite of engravings]. 4to; 161 pp.; illustrated from plans and woodcut engravings by Paul Vera. Offsetting to endpapers from flaps of self-wrappers; short one-inch split to front joint bottom of spine;same to top of spine; top corner slightly bumped; else a very good copy or better, clean, bright and tight in original pictorial wrappers. Vera's second book written in 1914 but not published until after the war. Essays on Le Notre and on the relations between tradition and modernity are followed by descriptive essays of new types of gardens. Seller Inventory # 007813
