Build Your Japanese Reading Skills and Prepare for the JLPT N5!
Whether you're studying for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT N5) or simply want to strengthen your reading comprehension, this book is designed for beginners looking to level up their skills.
Inside, you’ll find three unique types of reading practice, modeled after the JLPT N5 reading section:
-
短文(たんぶん)– Short Passages (approx. 80 characters)
Short paragraphs followed by one or more comprehension questions. -
中分(ちゅうぶん)– Mid-Length Passages (approx. 250 characters)
Longer texts to improve endurance and depth of understanding. -
情報検索(じょうほうけんさく)– Information Retrieval
Practice extracting important information from schedules, timetables, flyers, and other short materials—just like on the real test.
Includes Audio Files for Every Passage
While the actual JLPT reading section does not include audio, this book provides MP3 recordings for every passage and question to help you practice pronunciation and listening through shadowing. All sound files are available for free via the download link at the end of the book.
NEW: Unlock the Sentence Explorer for Interactive Learning
This book also integrates with the free-tier Makoto+ Sentence Explorer, an online tool that allows you to:
