The story was meant as a young adult sequel to the original poem. A good conduct award is stamped on a front cover page and dated 1898. Attractive gilded cover and spine. Nice engravings throughout. The book is in very good condition. Very slight shelf wear. The binding is good very slight separation of text from spine. The text is clean. The gilding on the front cover and spine is still pronounced.
