En una época en la que la censura previa intentaba asfixiar (y en buena parte lo conseguía) a la edición española, un grupo de irredentos exiliados republicanos, socialistas, comunistas y ácratas fundaron en 1961, en el efervescente París de la Rive Gauche, una pequeña editorial, Ediciones Ruedo ibérico, destinada a convertirse, hasta el fin de la dictadura militar tres lustros después, en uno de los faros de la izquierda peninsular, paliando con libros editados en la capital francesa, pasados de contrabando, el empobrecimiento de la cultura histórica, política y literaria de la península ibérica. Asimismo, luchando contra viento y marea, sorteando la represión policial, la incomprensión del Partido Comunista y los desastres financieros, también editarían una de las más imprescindibles revistas de la época: Cuadernos de Ruedo ibérico. En ella colaboraron, casi siempre bajo seudónimo para evitar represalias, algunos de los protagonistas políticos y culturales de la transición española: Juan Goytisolo, Joaquín Leguina, Jorge Semprún, Pasqual Maragall, Fernando Claudín, Juan Martínez Alier, Salvador Giner y otros muchos. Al frente de dicha editorial, como director y principal accionista, se hallaba el libertario José Martínez Guerricabeitia, el mítico y arrebatado Pepe Martínez, la gran figura olvidada de la edición española de los años sesenta y setenta. En forma de minucioso relato biográfico, y tras una larga investigación centrada en los ricos fondos documentales del Instituto Internacional de Historia Social de Amsterdam, donde se custodia actualmente el Archivo Ruedo ibérico, reaparece con José Martínez: la epopeya de Ruedo ibérico, la novelesca vida de este gran e irreductible editor: desde las comunidades rurales anarquistas de los pueblos valencianos y la revolución libertaria proclamada en la guerra civil, pasando por la despiadada represión franquista y los círculos clandestinos libertarios de oposición, el exilio de intelectuales empobrecidos en el duro París de la posguerra, las luchas subterráneas, a veces fratricidas, de los movimientos de oposición antifranquista, la amistad con los disidentes expulsados del PCE, la explosión subversiva del Mayo del 68, el auge neoácrata de los años setenta con la breve resurrección de la CNT..., hasta el olvido y la desaparición pública de Pepe Martínez al final de su vida, en los primeros años del felipismo, contra el cual dirigió sus postreros análisis críticos.

Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Juanpebooks, Miami, Florida, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
