The volume proposes a new pedagogical perspective on Bach’s repertoire, adapting nine easy preludes originally written for keyboard instruments to the specific technical requirements of the pedal harp. The work is grounded in the recognition that the absence of Bach’s music in the harpist’s training deprives the student of essential foundations for understanding architectural logic and for achieving a mature stylistic command. This makes it necessary to integrate models that foster a structural awareness of melodic lines and a transparent rendering of harmonic frameworks.
In this edition in particular, through a revision based on carefully calibrated fingerings and pedalings, the text begins to make Bach’s constructive logic accessible, gradually introducing a conscious management of resonance and the correct execution of selected ornaments, while also offering an initial approach to voice leading. The edition thus addresses the lack of dedicated progressive material, establishing itself as an essential resource for pre-academic training and for the development of technical assurance combined with a refined interpretative sensitivity.
