A century ago, women in the United States were denied the right to vote, yet today we are grappling with the question: what is a woman? Societies’ confusion between these two extremes is a consequence of removing God and His divine message from the social sciences; as a result, society becomes like a pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other. Back in the day, homosexuality carried a negative social stigma in the West. It was considered morally wrong, but now, homosexuality is not only considered to be legitimate but has become the defining feature of one’s identity. Homosexuality is not just mainstream but is celebrated to the point that we are often told that being critical of the LGBTQI+ movement is being “on the wrong side of history”. How did things get this way? It is surreal at times to reflect on the pace of change when it comes to the progression of the LGBTQI+ movement. What a parent considers to be a loving response to a child struggling with same-sex attraction, gender identity disorder, or gender dysphoria, might be regarded by the child and surrounding adults as hateful and bigoted. Why has this become the case? In the last century, sexual feelings/desires have emerged as the primary factors in determining our identities. To put it in other words, traditionally, sex was something I ‘did’, but now sex is something that defines who I ‘am’. Hence, we now have an ever-expanding list of letters to add to the LGBTQI+ alliance, who are defining their identity based on their sexual feelings, which is historically unprecedented. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the Islamic and postmodern paradigms of sexuality to recognize the problems and identify their divine solution regarding sexuality & gender chaos that is caused during Postmodern times.
