This is a first hand account of the magical rites, spells, fortune-telling techniques and talismans through which Isis, beloved goddess of the Ancient Egyptians, gained her powers over all creation.
Uniquely, these rites and spells seem to be narrated by Isis herself (or at least a deified personage identified with Isis) so that the content presents a factually insightful yet personal record of her initiation into magical ceremonies and their practice. All spells and rituals are drawn from Ancient Egyptian sources, and are separately interpreted by the author Jonathan Dee.
Illustrated with over 60 colour artworks and photographs, this practical spell book includes stories and enchantments for subjects eternally close to our hearts: spells for love and good fortune; scarab amulets and scorpions for protections against poisons; Isis’ recipes for intoxicating elixirs for seduction or sleep; and simple predictive techniques, including Egyptian astrology.
About the Author: Jonathan Dee is an astrologer, folklorist and historian who appears regularly on BBC radio and television. His books include The Book of Prophecies, the annual Complete Forecast Guide series with Sasha Fenton, and Chronicles of Ancient Egypt as well as many other titles on subjects as diverse as Feng Shui, Tarot, Oriental Astrology and Chinese Face Reading.

Read my story, for I am the mighty lsis, to lear how I came to have the power of creation and take the mantle of Queen of Magic. I will even teach you how to cary out my spels of ife and the afterlife, as well as tell you about charms of love and seduction, and secret amulets and protection against all evils. Look at the sumptuous illustrations of traditional art and hieroglyphics for further insight. Such was the jealousy of the great sun-god Ra, my grandfather, that he had my parents forever divided. My mother was cursed by Ra never to bring forth her divine children on any day of the year. Then, as if in reaction to his senseless anger, Thoth, the god of magic and writing, protector of scribes and physicians, and possibly the inventor of hierogyphics, came up with a solution to the problem. Find out how a game of dice that Thoth played with Khonsu, the moon, forever cast my future, And thus you will know the beginning of my tale, as it was recounted to me by Thoth himself. There is so much more that followed, but you must open the pages of my book to learn it. Seller Inventory # 5054
