Paperback. Jimmy Castle, a homeless young drifter down on his luck, meets a pretty young waitress in a diner on the New York waterfront. Out of kindness, she offers him a place to stay-an impulse that draws Jimmy into an unexpected relationship with Sam, a lonely Jewish widower living in an Orthodox Brooklyn neighborhood. While helping Sam take inventory at a neighborhood hardware store, the two uncover a forgotten crate of discarded nails and screws. The discovery unlocks buried memories and sets them on a journey into a tragic chapter of history-one Jimmy was never taught in school. As their bond deepens, Jimmy begins to confront questions about identity and the weight of the past. Eventually, unanswered truths lead Jimmy back to Texas, where he searches for the meaning behind a secret that has haunted him since meeting the old man. Inventory: Destiny and Redemption is a moving story of friendship, love, and the enduring consequences of history. This item is printed on demand.
