It is a novel multiple characters, mural inspired by stories, anecdotes and facts gathered by the writer. This was regarded as one of the broadest and most detailed account of life during this time in history. With 16 lithographies by G. Barret. / This is a paperback set in near to fine condition-the are covers a little dirty & top of the spines scuffed & some of the pages are uncut. (Volume 1 - 327 pages & Volume 2 - 329 pages). There is no date of publication, but possibly 1948. This is the Cette Edition. This was originally published in 1935. Seller Inventory # 3132
