About the Author: Heath is an avid birder and became fascinated by butterflies 30 years ago. This has led to an overall interest in the natural world. He has lectured, led field trips, and written many articles about birds and butterflies. He holds or has held positions on the boards of directors of Los Angeles Audubon Society, North American Butterfly Association, and the Los Angeles Chapter of NABA.

Clarke has traveled the world photographing many aspects of natural fauna and flora for more than 40 years. He is in demand to give illustrated programs to various audiences.
