This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -A textbook that provides students and teachers with a clear, yet challenging scope of Sociolinguistics. It provides the most rapidly advancing areas of research, including language and identity along with language and gender. In addition, it offers enhanced reader engagement through the inclusion of thought-provoking questions and hands-on exercises generously distributed throughout each chapter. The book also presents featured topics that include: language dialects, pidgins and creoles, speech communities, variation, words and culture, solidarity, politeness, talk and action and gender. It develops a better method of teaching Sociolinguistics to Arab learners. It attempts to bridge the cultural gap by teaching the students the scope of sociolinguistics and applying the concepts and the theories through analyzing their own country from a Sociolinguistic point of view. 108 pp. Englisch.
