Rebound in sturdy modern buckram cloth. Fresh end papers. Original fly chipped at edges with light toning. Light toning throughout with light foxing and minor instances of age staining. Light rippling throughout from previous humidity exposure. All edges marbled. Free of known ownership or markings. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Scarce. Illustrated with numerous drawings of astronomical instruments and tables. Elias Loomis (1811-1889) was an American mathematician. He served as a professor of mathematics and natural philosophy at Western Reserve College, the University of the City of New York and Yale University.
