Review
I would recommend the book not only to non-geologists but also to the undergraduate who wishes to become a professional geologist - it gives an easy entree to the subject. (First Break, August 1995)
I enjoyed this book. I was hooked from page one.... fascinating and eminently readable book... absolutely fulfils its objective of bringing the JAPEC course to a wider audience. The quality of the illustrations and photographs used, though all in black and white, is excellent, and I was impressed that in the majority of instances a full explanation was given with each illustration so that I didn't have to break my reading of the text or hunt through several passages in order to identify the context. I commend the book highly, not only to anyone in the field or to those associated with the industry, but to everyone who wants to understand the world about them just that little bit more.' Geoscientist
The information is presented clearly and concisely, with the helpful use of diagrams and illustrations, and should be of interest to those seeking an accessible introduction to this technical field. The Journal of Energy Literature
