Add to basketFull leather binding with original gilt/black leather titles affixed. Several owner's names in ink and pencil on second free endpaper and at top of TP. "A New Edition withImprovements." 25 numbered plates, some folding, all are present. One table. Some foxing throughout. No library markings except private owner's. Pages are tight. Extremely interesting scientific plates including a telescopic appearance of the moon, levers, pulleys, planets, eclipses, maps of the hemispheres, light/reflection & refraction, lenses, human eye, electricity, pneumatics. etc. 366 + 359 + index in each volume. Nicholson was perhaps most noted for being the first to use electricity to separate hydrogen and oxygen.
