This text combines the market leading writing and presentation skills of Bill Stevenson with integrated, thorough, Excel modeling from Ceyhun Ozgur. Professor Ozgur teaches Management Science, Operations, and Statistics using Excel, at the undergrad and MBA levels at Valparaiso University --and Ozgur developed and tested all examples, problems and cases with his students. The authors have written this text for students who have no significant mathematics training and only the most elementary experience with Excel.
About the Author:
Associate professor of Decision Sciences in the College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in operations management and management science. Dr. Stevenson is the author of textbooks in management science, statistics, and operations management. His articles have appeared in Management Science, Decision Sciences, Quality Progress, and other journals. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in production/operations management, from Syracuse University.
Ceyhun Ozgur, CPIM, is a professor of information and decision sciences in the College of Business Administration at Valparaiso University. He earned a BS in Industrial Management, a MS in Management from the University of Akron, and a PhD in business administration (Operations Management/Operations Research) from Kent State University. Among others, Dr. Ozgur has published in Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Interfaces, OMEGA, Quality Management Journal, Mid-American Journal of Business, Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management, International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management, International Journal of Business Disciplines, Industrial Mathematics and Teaching Statistics. He has written study guides, test banks and instructors' manuals for business statistics, operations management and management science textbooks. He is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute, INFORMS and APICS and serves as a member of the editorial review board for Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education and International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management.
