"Iqbal: His Life and Our Times" by S.A. Vahid is a captivating journey into the life, philosophy, and legacy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a towering figure in the intellectual and political landscape of British India. From the vibrant streets of Sialkot to the corridors of European academia, embark on an enlightening exploration of the man who inspired a nation.
In the opening chapter, "Biographical Sketch," Vahid skillfully unveils the layers of Iqbal's life, tracing his humble beginnings in Sialkot to his transformative education in Lahore and Europe. Discover the influences that shaped his worldview and set him on the path to becoming a poet, philosopher, and visionary.
Delving deeper into Iqbal's literary genius, "His Poetry" presents a profound analysis of his verse, unraveling the intricate themes and metaphors that captivated generations. Through Vahid's insightful commentary, readers gain a newfound appreciation for the timeless relevance of Iqbal's poetry and its ability to resonate across cultures and epochs.
But Iqbal was more than a poet; he was a thinker ahead of his time. "Iqbal as Thinker" invites readers to explore his philosophical musings, from his revolutionary concept of the self (Khudi) to his visionary ideas for a revitalized Islamic civilization. Witness the evolution of Iqbal's thought and its enduring relevance in today's world.
In "Iqbal as Architect of Pakistan," Vahid shines a light on Iqbal's pivotal role in laying the ideological groundwork for Pakistan's creation. Uncover his impassioned advocacy for Muslim rights and his fierce critique of colonialism, which ignited the flames of independence and reshaped the destiny of a subcontinent.
"The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam" offers a profound reflection on Iqbal's quest to reconcile tradition with modernity, faith with reason. Through meticulous scholarship, Vahid illuminates the contours of Iqbal's theological vision and its implications for contemporary debates on Islam and modernity.
"Iqbal in Foreign Lands" transports readers across continents, tracing Iqbal's travels and engagements with diverse cultures and intellectual traditions. Experience his encounters with luminaries of his time and witness the global impact of his ideas on the course of history.
"Iqbal: His Life and Our Times" by S.A. Vahid is more than a biography; it's a journey of discovery, a testament to the enduring power of ideas to shape destinies and inspire generations. Whether you're a scholar, a student, or simply curious about the life and legacy of one of South Asia's greatest minds, this book is an indispensable companion on the road to understanding. Join us as we unravel the mysteries of Iqbal's life and times, and discover the timeless relevance of his vision for a better world.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book.
