Job hunters in today's tight employment market need all the help they can get. Help in preparing for a job interview is especially important because the interview is where prospective employers decide whether or not to hire an applicant. Using the tried-and-true Q&A format, this freshly updated book prepares applicants to do their best during an interview.

Each page asks a typical job interviewer's question along with an explanation of why such questions are typically asked plus tips on how each job hunter can customize the best answer to fit his or her own situation. Sample responses appear on the page's reverse side. The book covers more than 200 potentially thorny questions such as:

• Work background and education--with questions such as "Have you ever been fired?" or "Why didn't you finish college?"
• Skills and competencies--with questions that include "You appear to be overqualified for this job. What would cause you to take such a position at this time in your career?"
• Personal values and goals--such as "After six months on the job, what will be the most annoying thing about you?"
• Tricky job-fit questions--such as "What is your current salary?" or "What do you expect your starting salary to be?"

The book is designed so that pages can be pulled out, selected, shuffled according to need, and used as flash cards for pre-interview practice. New to this edition is a personal branding checklist. Here in its new, updated edition is an unusual job-hunting tool that offers solid preparation for that very important step toward career success.
