Paperback. When nineteen-year-old Sloane Rory trades her life to save a friend, she is swept into the mystical world of The Midst, an intermediary place between the world of the living and what comes after. This new realm is governed by Soul Keepers and Mediums, supernatural beings that aid souls in finding their way. Each soul has a vital role in the truest grand plan, and Sloane's is more unique than most. She discovers that she's an Arc, a soul with special abilities that span the veil between life and death. But when a dangerous entity escapes imprisonment and threatens the afterlife of each soul, Sloane must take action while discovering her unique and growing powers. While trying to meet the mysterious creature's impossible demands, Sloane discovers that the rarity of her gifts makes her a target for the larger, sinister forces at work. A fresh and captivating take on the afterlife, Interitum whisks readers into a thrilling new world of love and combat where death is a gray area, but the stakes have never been higher.
