8vo. [5], vi-vii, [3], 11-271, [4], 4-83, [8], 7-231, [1], [1] (page of publisher's advertisements), [5] pp. Half contemporary maroon pebbled sheep over red cloth all over beveled-edge boards with a gold decoration of keys and handcuffs on the front board, gold lettering with a gold scroll and quill on the spine; all edges marbled. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with a frontispiece and ten plates, and with a full-page illustration. Three works bound together. Intemperance and Crime was first published in 1880, it appears the later two works were first published in 1883. The plates depict alcohol in a spooky manner, with skulls and skeletons decorating bottles of booze and serving it. A work supportive of the Temperance Movement in the United States. The rear hinge cracked, a few scuffs to the boards.
