Integrated Trauma Healing Workbook for Neurodivergent Minds
120+ Somatic Exercises, IFS Parts Work, and Polyvagal Nervous System Regulation for Autistic and ADHD Adults
The First Trauma Recovery Workbook Built From the Ground Up for Autistic and ADHD Adults
Standard trauma workbooks were not designed for your nervous system. They assume you can sit still, follow linear instructions, tolerate eye contact, and process emotions the way a neurotypical brain does. This workbook throws out that assumption entirely. Every exercise, every script, and every protocol inside has been adapted for the specific ways neurodivergent brains experience, store, and recover from trauma.
An Integrated Three-Channel Approach to Healing
This workbook brings together three of the most effective trauma recovery modalities — somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, and polyvagal nervous system regulation — into a single, structured program. Instead of treating each modality in isolation, the integrated approach helps you understand how your body, your inner parts, and your nervous system interact during trauma responses, and how to work with all three channels simultaneously for deeper, lasting recovery.
120+ Exercises Adapted for Neurodivergent Processing Styles
Inside you will find 105 hands-on exercises organized across 24 chapters, 10 grounding scripts designed for sensory-sensitive nervous systems, and 8 bonus tools including safety plans, a shutdown first-aid kit, a therapist collaboration page, and a crisis toolkit. Each exercise includes difficulty and intensity ratings so you can pace your healing according to your current capacity. Sensory accommodations, alexithymia-friendly alternatives, and non-visual options are built into every chapter.
Covers the Trauma That Other Books Miss
This workbook addresses the full spectrum of neurodivergent trauma: sensory trauma from overwhelming environments, social trauma from chronic misunderstanding and exclusion, identity trauma from being told you are wrong or broken, systemic trauma from institutions that failed to accommodate you, and medical trauma from harmful interventions. It also addresses the masking-trauma cycle, late diagnosis grief, internalized ableism, and the unique challenges of navigating relationships, boundaries, and sustainable recovery as a neurodivergent adult.
Practical Tools You Can Use Immediately
The workbook includes fillable worksheets, printable protocol cards, emergency grounding scripts for meltdowns and shutdowns, a personal autonomic state map, parts mapping templates, a weekly energy budget, trigger-response flowcharts, and a maintenance calendar for long-term recovery. A free downloadable PDF of all worksheets is included with purchase for easy printing and repeated use.
Grounded in Current Research, Written for Real People
All content is informed by peer-reviewed research in autism, ADHD, trauma neuroscience, polyvagal theory, somatic experiencing, and Internal Family Systems therapy. Citations are included throughout for readers and clinicians who want to explore the evidence base. This is not a replacement for professional therapy — it is a powerful companion resource for self-guided healing or clinical use alongside a trained therapist.
