Integrated Energy Systems with a Carnot Battery (Hardcover)

Integrated Energy Systems with a Carnot Battery: A Pathway to Low-Carbon Energy Systems explores Carnot battery technology and its integration into modern energy systems, demonstrating how it can efficiently store and convert energy. It presents optimization approaches of Carnot batteries, including various system layouts, thermal energy storage options, and round-trip efficiency improvements.

Covering the modeling of integrated energy systems (IES), the book focuses on the interaction among various energy carriers (electricity, steam, heat, etc.). It explores the integration of Carnot batteries into IES, featuring case studies illustrating their applications in optimizing system performance, stability, and cost-effectiveness in industrial environments.

This book serves as a comprehensive guide for energy researchers, engineers, and industry professionals seeking innovative solutions for energy storage and conversion.

Xiaojie Lin is Associate Professor at the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2012 and obtained a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, USA, in 2017.
