It establishes a unified energy network model, elucidating the complementarities between various forms of energy, the conversion efficiencies, and the interactions and influences on operating costs. The book proposes methods for the planning, configuration, and operational control of IES and develops a simulation system for the integration of multi-physical field analog, hybrid transient, and steady-state conditions. The established mathematical models and simulation system are utilized to conduct a series of analyses under typical integrated energy scenarios. These analyses evaluate the operational performance and economic benefits of IES across different conditions. This book serves as a valuable resource for professionals involved in the research, planning, design, consulting, research and development, and operation of businesses related to integrated energy systems. It also serves as an essential reference for educators and college students.

Haoyong Chen is a pioneer in the study of complex power and energy systems by using multidisciplinary approaches from power systems, power electronics, thermal power, optimization and control, information and communication, economics and management science, and artificial intelligence, etc. He has achieved original innovations in theories and approaches of modeling, analysis, optimization and control of such systems, with special emphases on engineering applications. As the leader of "New Energy Power System" research group of South China University of Technology, Haoyong Chen has been leading a R&D team focusing on new energy generation control and other digital products for over 10 years. In recent years, he has undertaken more than 10 national key projects, published more than 300 papers and more than 20 national invention patents of China.
Huaguang Yan is a Senior Engineer at the Professor level and currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Hydrogen Energy Branch of the China Electricity Council. He is also the Deputy Secretary-General of the Hydrogen Energy Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Electric Power Demand Side Management Standardization Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Digital Twin Subcommittee for Integrated Energy Systems within the Chinese Association for System Simulation. He has been engaged in research on power demand-side management, integrated energy systems, and digitalization technologies of power grids for many years. He has led or participated in 8 major national projects or research topics and has received 2 First Prizes for Innovation in Chinese Standards and over 20 provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards. He has completed more than 40 national, industry, and enterprise standards, been granted over 70 invention patents, published more than 30 papers in SCI/EI and core Chinese journals, and authored 6 books.
Guixiong He, born in 1984, holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and is a Senior Engineer at the Professor level. He serves as the Chief Engineer at the Energy Use Institute of the China Electric Power Research Institute and is an International Energy Efficiency Evaluator. Dr He has been extensively involved in research on integrated energy systems and novel electric-hydrogen coupling technologies. He has received 12 provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards, one National Innovation Contribution First Prize, and has been honored with the title of National Power Grid Craftsperson. He has released 9 national, industry, and enterprise standards, has published 25 papers and 47 authorized invention patents, and has been the chief editor of one book and a co-editor of 5 others.
