This is the fascinating and inspiring story of INS agent Jose Melendez Perez, who the 9/11 Commission concluded kept the man who would have been the fifth hijacker on United Flight 93 - a Saudi Arabian national - from entering the United States in August, 2001. Replete with dramatic twists and turns, it is ultimately the story of a border guard who followed his gut and did his job thoroughly and professionally. In this book, the author tells the largely untold story of this American hero.
