Print on Demand. This book analyzes and catalogues Roman pottery and building materials stamped with the names of the powerful Domitii family and their agents, as well as others in their sphere of influence. The author's work deepens our understanding of the Roman world by examining the lives of wealthy and influential figures through the lens of their everyday objects. The inscriptions on these items, mostly tiles and bricks, offer rare glimpses into the workings of the Roman economy, landownership, and daily life, shedding light on Roman construction techniques, infrastructure, and the movement of goods via amphorae. The book also investigates the extensive ceramic production of the Domitii. The author's research, based on nearly 2,000 stamps and hundreds of tiles, provides a comprehensive resource for scholars and collectors alike. It adds significantly to our knowledge of the Domitii and their contemporaries, and contributes to our understanding of Roman social, economic, and industrial history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
